# The Washi Series - DIY Necklace Display Makeover

by Meow

This is one of my past DIY - a cork board necklace display.
Actually, I like this a lot as it is pretty and easy to make.
BUT, it is the time to remake this board T.T

It cost me total HKD$24 to make this board.
The ingredients include 1 board and 1 pack of dried flowers;
both from AEON living plaza.

Even I like the board so much, I have to dump the design as it become moldy in spring...
That's why I don't like the weather in Hong Kong, especially in spring.
YUCK!! Mold is definitely top 3 in my dislike list!!!

I grasped some materials from my "DIY drawers" for this remake.
I'd chosen some washi tapes, some fake daisies and fake leaves.

I got these daises from Taobao and they were extremely inexpensive (around RMB$2 for 10).

The first step of this DIY was to remove all the moldy flowers from my board.
As I pinched them out, dust of green burst out... that's disgusting!!

It was so difficult to remove all the flowers as I hot-glued them onto the board.
I had to use my "nail-refiner" to remove them...

After intensive cleaning (spraying alcohol and wipe it like crazy), I started to tape it.

I'd chosen a grey tape for a "primer", then a silver chevron tape for the pattern.

After applying the "primer", it's time to tape the chevron tape on.
** You MUST use mod podge to make the washi tapes stay on the board.
Just to make the washi tape extra long lasting, I stick the washi on with mod podge.
You know, Hong Kong is really humid, the tapes will definitely fall off in a couple of days T.T

After taping the borders, it's time to hot-glue the flowers on.

This is what my flowers and leaves look like.

I hot-glued the leaves at the back of the flowers before I attach the flowers on the board.

One by one, I hot-glued them onto the board.

Viola! It looks so spring-themed!!

That how it looks in my room ♥

C'est fini!!
J'espère que vous apprécierez mon DIY!!
FYI, all pictures were taken with my Pentax K-30 and kit lens 18-55mm F3.5-4.5.

Gros Bisous,
