# One Day in Ayutthaya

by Meow

Longing to visit Ayutthaya last time but too lazy too lazy to research for the travel information.
This time, I joined a local tour from Klook with my friends which included traffic cost, guide and entrance fee.
I strongly recommend this tour as everything was nicely organised and it was only HKD$339.
It did not include your lunch fee tho.

The itinerary was closely packed.
We visited 5 places, including 4 temples and 1 floating market.

First drop off place: Wat Yai Chai Mongkhon
The temple is basically a ruin (the other 3 temples are under the same condition).
We were told that the whole city was burnt during the war, for history information, click here.
The temple was not big but there were some stairs to climb.
Interesting experience to look at different types of architecture.

Our second stop was the Ayutthaya Floating Market.
It is a small market compared to Chaktukchak, no doubt.
Here, we managed to have a boat tour along the river.
We had our lunch here.

Just 5 mins walk from the market, you can see / feed / ride the elephants.

The third stop was the Wat Mahathat which was the focus of this day trip.
You may recognise the tree Buddha.

Fourth stop: Wat Phra Si Sanphet
This temple was the prettiest and largest among the other three.
This wat was exclusive used for royal ceremonies, no wonder it was so stunning even it was total destroyed.
There were some stairs which allowed tourists to climb.
It was a good place for photographers to take portraits as well.

Last stop: Wat Chaiwatthanaram
After seeing so many temples under simliar style, we had lost our excitement.
Still, it was worth visiting.

End of the tour.
4 of us were covered in sweat and were extremely tired.
We slept throughout of journey back to Bangkok XD

Hope you like my sharing and photos.
Stay tuned for my next post.

XOXO,
